a brief for hr, brand, and developer teams

Gift your team like you mean it.

Gish, for businesses, is a coordination layer for the things companies have always done badly — birthdays, work anniversaries, life events, holiday gifts, brand storefronts, sponsored moments, and the API plumbing underneath all of it. Built for HR, brand, and developer teams. Worldwide from day 1.

A modern workplace where teams gift each other intentionally
"The team you have. The recognition they actually wanted."
a note from the editor

Most companies treat gifting like a line item — an annual budget, a vendor, a spreadsheet, a forgotten birthday. We think it's an instrument. Used well, gifting is the cheapest, warmest, most human form of recognition a workplace has. Used badly, it's a $50 Amazon gift card the day after.

What follows is a working brief on Gish for businesses — nine chapters, organised by who you are. Skip to the one that fits. Talk to sales when you're ready.

ICHAPTER ONE
for hr & people teams

Corporate gifting, finally on a calendar.

Auto-gift birthdays, work anniversaries, baby showers, weddings, get-wells, condolences. One dashboard. One budget line. One manager-approved vendor list.

The Business tier is $99/month base + $5/employee/month. It includes the manager dashboard, automatic event detection (birthdays from HRIS, work anniversaries from your start dates), a curated vendor catalog, per-event budget caps, and recipient-side wishlist matching when employees opt in.

Managers approve the budget once per quarter. Gish handles the rest — the gift goes out, the card writes itself (with optional human edit), the receipt PDFs back into your accounting system. Everyone gets the right thing.

  • Auto-detect birthdays, work anniversaries, weddings, parental leave returns, retirements
  • Per-event caps set by HR, override-able by direct managers
  • Recipient match — if the employee has a personal Gish wishlist, we pull from it
  • Manager dashboard — upcoming events, budget remaining, send history
  • Card writing — handwritten-style cards via Greetabl & Postable partnerships, or your own copy
  • Receipt PDFs — ledger-ready, push to QuickBooks / NetSuite / Xero

HR integration.

Workday, BambooHR, Gusto, Rippling, ADP, Paychex, Justworks. Two-way sync, hourly.

The integration is read-mostly. We pull employee directory, birthdays, employment dates, manager hierarchy, location, and termination dates. We never pull compensation, performance reviews, or any field outside the gifting use case.

On the way back: gift events become expense entries on your behalf, mapped to the cost center of the recipient's department.

  • Workday — official partner, listed in Workday Marketplace
  • BambooHR — native integration, OAuth setup in 4 minutes
  • Gusto — native integration, includes contractor support
  • Rippling, ADP, Paychex, Justworks — SCIM 2.0 + custom fields
  • Direct CSV upload — for the holdouts
  • Off-cycle event triggers — promotion, baby, marriage, condolence (manual)

Data products.

Brand panel access, anonymised and aggregated. Privacy-preserving by design.

If you sell into the gift economy, Gish is one of the most honest signals you'll find — what people want, by occasion, by region, by demographic, in their own words.

  • 12 standing reports — Mother's Day Demand Index, Holiday Top-of-List, Bridal Registry Trends, etc.
  • Aggregation floor — no insight published with fewer than 1,000 wishes
  • Custom extractions — pricing on request, 6-week typical turnaround
  • Privacy-preserving — k-anonymity >= 50, differential privacy on numeric fields
