What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. Similar technologies — localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, pixel tags — are covered by this policy too. Under PECR / ePrivacy, we must obtain your consent before setting any non-essential cookie. Strictly-necessary cookies are exempt because the service cannot function without them.
Five categories.
Every cookie we set falls into exactly one of the following categories. You can accept or reject each category independently in the preference center.
Strictly necessary
Required for the site to function: sign-in, security, load-balancing, CSRF protection. Cannot be disabled. No consent required (ePrivacy exemption).
Functional
Remember your preferences (locale, theme, currency). Improves the experience but the site works without them.
Analytics
First-party event collector for capacity planning and bug detection. Opt-in only. We do not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or Segment.
Marketing
Used only if you click an inbound paid ad — to measure that the ad worked. Off by default. Opt-in only.
Social
Set by embedded third-party content (e.g. a YouTube video on the blog). Loaded only after you click a placeholder.
Every cookie we set.
The complete, per-cookie disclosure required under Article 13 GDPR and Regulation 6 PECR. Updated whenever a cookie is added or removed.
If we add a cookie not listed above, this table is updated before the cookie is set in production. Page footer carries the version number.
Manage consent.
Change your mind any time. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it (GDPR Art. 7(3)).
